Brian Keith West was born on July 8, 1982 at Tod Children's Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. He attended various schools while growing up and he still managed to graduate from Chaney High School while having such a changing-school career. After graduating, Mr. West enlisted in the United States Navy and was a standout sailor. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal—"Navy battle ‘E' Ribbon"— while serving aboard the USS Mitscher DDG-57. He enlisted as an airman but transferred over to a gunner's mate in the process of enlisting to attend Gunner's Mate "A" School. After gun school, Mr. West then attended MK-41 VLS Gunner's Mate "C" School and learned how to operate the military's advanced vertical launching missile system. While serving on the Mitscher, Mr. West also attended Damage Control University and advanced to Petty Officer Third Class at age eighteen.

Some of his special skills include: training in preventive classes of alcohol misuse and drug use prevention, interpersonal responsibilities, health and readiness, and personal finances.

While serving in the United States Navy, Mr. West served under Commander Michael R. Barclift and Executive Officer Kelly. Mr. West's chain of command consisted of serving under the presidency of Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

Mr. West was honorably discharged on December 12, 2002. He then attended training at Townsend Learning Center under Professor Jeanne Marie Stumpf, MS, PhD. After which, he went on to attend ITT-Tech and majored in computer engineering and the science of business administration while continuing to serve his country as a United States Postal carrier.

He is the president of the Method 8 Corporation and author of the Method Eight books. Mr. West believes that the knowledge of business and Christianity can increase the productivity of the world; he is focused on teaching the nature of business and spreading the gospel to all.

Brian Keith West now lives in Ohio, where he first began the Method Eight. He wants to inform the public that he returned home to where it all began, in an art class at Chaney High School, where he graduated. Mr. West says that he is motivated by his vision of books that enhance the imagination and give meaning to life. He founded the Method 8 Corporation on that vision, to enhance the ability of all people who walk the earth, especially the citizens of his homeland, the United States.
