Russell Simmons started the dreams of hip hop in the 1980s by promoting rap concerts at the City University of New York. Rap was slowly fading from the interest of the public but Simmons had a passion for it and believed in this business opportunity so he formed Def Jam Records with his fellow student Rick Rubin. They started with only 5,000 and they were successful because Simmons believed in his methods. The business fact remains that business starts everywhere and can be accomplished by all who seek it.
