McDonald's Revolutionized Franchising

McDonald's revolutionized franchising when Ray Kroc persuaded the McDonald brothers to let him be their franchising agent for their restaurant in San Bernardino, California, in 1955. Since then the company has duplicated itself all over the world. A franchise is a business that markets a product or service from a franchisor and has to carry on the franchise as specified by the franchisor. Franchising has been around the United States since 1850 when the Singer Sewing Machine Company first used this method of doing business.
